What is the Parent Organization?

Gleason’s Parent Organization

The Parent Organization is made up of the team gymnast’s parents.  Together as a group we help to fund things relating to the team program, which are listed below.  Your participation in the team’s booster club (Parent Organization) is required on a financial level (payment of the membership fee) for your daughter to be involved in the team travel meets.  The amount you choose to participate is your choice, although the more parents we have helping out with various activities throughout the year, makes the whole team program more efficient and allows for more fun for the gymnasts throughout the season.

What does the Parent Organization pay for?

The Parent Organization pays for numerous things throughout the year, and without the financial input of the Parent Organization, the team would not be able to participate in meets or other fun activities during the year.  Here is a list of some of the things the Parent Organization pays for with it’s funds:

·        Travel expenses for all of the coaches to attend the meets throughout the season (no coaches = no meets)

·        Travel expenses for the away meet for the coaches (hotel and meals etc)

·        Winter party for the gymnasts

·        Year round incentives for the Team girls during practice (the “breakfast bucks”)

·        End of the year banquet, trophies, medals etc.

·        Coach gifts and door prizes for the end of the season banquet

What is the Membership fee?

In previous years, we have done fundraisers that required selling and distributing of goods and/or food.  It was the consensus of the parents at that time that people would rather contribute financially, rather than having to do door to door selling.  Based on this, the Parent Organization decided to fund our program by requiring all team parents to make a one time payment.   The membership fee for the 2006-2007 season will be $150.00.  Since the funds are used to pay for the coaches to travel to the meets, if the payment is not made, the gymnast will not be allowed to participate in the travel meets.   If someone has financial concerns and is not able to make their payment, they need to contact a member of the Parent Organization Board.

Booster Sponsered Fundraisers

Fundraisers:

In addition to the amount collected in Membership fees, it is still necessary to do other fundraising.  The other fundraisers we have done in the past do not require as much involvement as door to door selling.  The fundraisers for this year are as follows:

  • Used Leo sale (will take place in September)
  • Car wash (June 9, 2007)
  • Sweatshirt and team bag sales (sold to the team members, but the profit goes to the Booster club)
  • Sucker sales
  • Breakfast/snack sales in the fridge at gym

Your participation in the above fundraisers is expected.  We understand that not everyone can participate in every event, but please understand that without parent involvement, there would not be a Team Program.  Please watch the team bulletin board for sign-ups for Team fundraisers and sign up if you are able to help.

Again, Thank you for your participation and support of our Booster Club!
